A book about boys, bikes and beers…
An open university brief for my Diploma in Photography. The project was an open choice, requiring just the use of natural light.
This was a photo journalistic investigation of the dirt bike culture of the North Shore dirt bike scene. I spent weeks around the trails, seeing what they did, how they did it and photographed the interesting sides of it.
I took the opportunity to tie in my graphic design skills with photography, in order to create a hardcover photo book. I worked with The Bookbinding Press to trim and bind it, they even create a plate for the debossing on the cover.

This was one of the key photography projects that I really enjoyed – it allowed me to find my love of documentary photography and to really embrace the idea of simply capturing what is already there.
